A series on marketing leadership and innovation.
The Cannes Film Festival isn't the only fashionable event held on the southeastern coast of France.
Between June 22 and June 26, CMOs, influencers, CEOs, creative marketing professionals, and more flock to the resort city to attend the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity — also known as the Oscars of advertising.
And while at the event, many of those attendees are flaunting fashion status symbols, from designer necklaces to trendy footwear.
Business Insider is on the ground in Cannes and keeping an eye on what stylish attendees are wearing. Here's what's stood out so far.
Statement necklaces are in again.

Some are making statements with monochrome looks.

Woven and rattan bags are everywhere.

The more colorful, the better.

You can't go wrong with designer sunglasses, especially from brands like Prada.
Ashley Thorpe and Hannah Diddams both wore vibrant dresses, designer sunglasses, and bold jewelry. Diddams' shades specifically came from Prada.
Men are having fun with bags, too.
Two men were spotted wearing statement crossbody bags at the festival. One sported a black Swissdigital design that featured multiple pockets, while another wore what looked like a leather Hermès piece.
Bold prints are having a moment.
Attendee Adwoa Nyame opted for stripes, which decorated her blouse, trousers, and purse.
No outfit is complete without eye-catching accessories.
Actors Jimmy Akingbola and Darren Darnborough proved that. Akingbola, who starred in "Bel-Air," paired a brown T-shirt and matching trousers with flashy gold jewelry, a baseball cap, and sunglasses.
Darnborough, who appeared in "Marshals," wore white trousers and a denim button-down, which he accessorized with a Dior neck scarf, a silver watch, and black sunglasses.
Flowing, white pants felt like an essential item.
One woman sported white linen trousers with her green top, while another paired a floral tank top with flowing linen pants.
When it comes to hats, the bigger, the better.
One attendee was spotted wearing a black-and-white summer dress, woven sandals, and a wide-brimmed hat.
Men also embraced linen.
One of those men was "Queer Eye" star Antoni Porowski, who paired a white, long-sleeve linen top with light-wash blue jeans.
Cerulean blue is a popular shade.
One woman wore the color, as well as other shades of blue, in the form of a minidress and a Louis Vuitton tote bag.
