In my experience, underthings tend to fall into one of two categories: pretty or comfortable. Rarely are they both. So when ads for EBY bras started following me around Instagram, I was skeptical. Sure, the bras looked flattering — but without underwire, could they really deliver the comfort, support, and stay-put fit influencers promised? I decided to put some of EBY's best-selling bras and panties to the test myself.
Short for "Empowered By You," EBY is known for its seamless, size-inclusive intimates (up to size 4X) that are designed to avoid riding up, slipping down, or digging in thanks to the brand's proprietary technology.
To find out whether the hype was justified, I wore several of EBY's most popular bras and panties over several weeks, paying close attention to fit, support, breathability, durability, and overall comfort.
What's the difference between their most popular bras?
Here's a quick comparison of the styles, listed from lightest and most flexible support to most structured and supportive.
- The Sheer Bralette is probably the one you've seen advertised on Instagram. It's the most breathable, fashion-forward, and visually striking of the bunch — but provides the least coverage. That makes it ideal for lounging around in or layering under thicker tops.
- The Relief Bra strikes the perfect compromise between a traditional bra and a bralette — comfortable and lightweight with subtle lift and support.
- The Support Bralette has a sporty, more compressive fit, with impressive smoothing and support benefits, but less separation than other styles.
- The Pain-Free T-Shirt Bra is by far the most structured option, offering maximum wire-free shaping and support — and the smoothest silhouette under workwear.
EBY Sheer Bralette review
Pros: Ultra-breathable, lightweight, seamless, wide straps, more than a dozen colors/prints to choose from
Cons: Band and straps are not adjustable, zero nipple coverage
This bralette is what first attracted me to EBY — I came across multiple style influencers raving about it, and the ultra-feminine and flattering design immediately caught my eye.
I found this bralette to be supportive enough for everyday wear, yet soft and forgiving enough to sleep in. Since it's made of mesh, it's also featherlight and offers ample airflow — making it an ideal pick during the hotter months.
The only snag? The nipple coverage is minimal since it's sheer and unlined. So, if modesty is a top priority, consider layering it under tops with thicker fabrics.
EBY Relief Bra review
Pros: Adjustable straps and band, removable pads, "wireless wire" technology, seamless
Cons: Slightly challenging to get padding back into place after removing it, only two rows of hooks in standard sizes
If I had to choose one everyday bra from the EBY set I tested, this would be it. It's super comfortable, surprisingly versatile, and offers a decent amount of lift, support, and separation despite having zero wires.
Some noteworthy tech here: EBY's three-dimensional SmartWing support layer, which is built into the bra wings. The brand says it molds to your body for extra support while smoothing out side bulge — and in my testing, it actually delivered.
The padding here is pretty subtle, which I personally appreciate — I'm not usually eager to add bulk to my DD-cup bust — and I love that I have the option to take it out when I don't need or want the extra coverage. I did find that it's a little tricky to get the padding perfectly back into position since the slits are somewhat small, but to be fair, I have yet to find a bra with removable padding that doesn't have this issue.
EBY Support Bralette review
Pros: Seamless, wire-free support, adjustable straps, removable pads, breathable mesh panels, wider straps on larger sizes
Cons: No adjustable band
I'll admit it: I was skeptical about how much support the bra can provide, considering the fact that it doesn't have an adjustable band. Way back in my days as a retail worker, I learned that 80% of the bra's support comes from the band.
Still, true to its name, the EBY Support Bralette is definitely the most supportive of the bunch — probably due in part to the band, which is both incredibly snug-fitting as well as stretchy.
I based this conclusion on a test I used to evaluate all the bras, which entailed standing in front of a mirror and doing 15 jumping jacks. I observed an inevitable degree of bounce, but still a pretty impressive performance considering there's no underwire in this bra. For that reason, I've actually been wearing this as a sports bra alternative to low-impact workout classes.
I personally found that this bra provided less separation than the other EBY styles, but that makes sense given the structural design — and it's a relatively small price to pay for wireless support.
EBY Pain-Free T-Shirt Bra review
Pros: Traditional band/cup sizing, adjustable straps and band, wider straps on plus sizes, wire-free support, versatile plunge neckline
Cons: Only available up to DDD cup size, only two rows of hooks in standard sizes
If lift and shaping is what you’re after in a bra, look no further. EBY’s Pain-Free T-Shirt Bra achieves something pretty remarkable: It somehow rivals a push-up bra, even without underwire.
Instead of a rigid metal wire under the cups, EBY uses a flexible silicone strip reinforced with nylon threading to offer structure and support — but with more flexibility than a traditional underwire, not to mention zero poking or digging into your skin. Even better? The silicone strip is coated in EBY’s signature “flocking”—a grippy velvety texture that keeps the bra in place so it doesn’t roll up or slide around.
The plunge neckline on this bra also makes it a bit more versatile from a styling standpoint — I can wear this one with lower-cut necklines, like deep V tees.
EBY brief review
Pros: Seamless, cotton gusset, no-slip grip lining, available up to size 4X
Cons: None
I can’t find anything wrong with these panties. They’re tagless, seamless, silky soft, and feature the perfect mid rise.
Some briefs I’ve tried leave me with a wedgie the second I bend over — not an issue with these. They don’t ride up, and they’re comfy enough for all day wear or even sleeping in.
Best of all, even though these offered the full coverage of traditional briefs, they still remained surprisingly discreet under clothing — only becoming visible beneath an ultra-fitted pencil skirt.
EBY thong review
Pros: Seamless, cotton gusset, no-slip grip lining, available up to size 4X
Cons: More low-rise than expected, runs a tad tight
I consider thongs to be a necessary evil. I generally prefer other types of underwear from a comfort standpoint, but will reluctantly resort to this style when I’m sporting a bodycon dress or tight leggings in order to avoid a visible panty line. The EBY thong is definitely tolerable, though — the fabric is soft, the flat precision-cut edges disappear under clothing, and it stays securely in place thanks to the flocking along the sides. I’m usually a size small in panties, and I did find that the small in these felt a tad snug at first — but fortunately, they definitely stretched out and molded to my shape with wear.
Honestly, my only gripe here is that the product description suggests this thong is high-rise, when in reality, it sat closer to a low-to-mid rise fit on my body.
FAQs
Are EBY bras good for large breasts?
Even though EBY bras are wireless, they're surprisingly well-suited to larger busts. That said, the level of support does vary quite a bit depending on the style. I found that they provided significantly more support, lift, and shaping than a typical bralette — despite less rigid structure than an underwire bra.
Underwire helps a lot with separation — so, if that's a priority for you, you may prefer a traditional bra with wire.
But if you're looking for bras with comparable support and lift that are more comfortable to wear for long hours — as in, no digging into your rib cage — then EBY's products are an excellent fit.
Do EBY bras run true to size?
Most of EBY's bras (except the T-Shirt Bra) come in sizes XS-XXL rather than the standard band-and-cup sizes; however, it's fairly easy to find your perfect fit using the brand's sizing chart. Additionally, EBY offers a DD cup version in each size, which is helpful for less proportional people like me who have a smaller band size but need more coverage in the cups.
In my experience, the sizing depends slightly on the style — for example, the Sheer Bralette is a bit more forgiving, while the Support Bralette is more compressive.
All in all, I'd say EBY bras are fairly true to size, but the band seems to run a tad big. So, for example, let's say you're typically between a 34C (size small in EBY) and 36C (size medium in EBY). In that case, I'd advise sizing down and opting for the small. Sizing down can also be helpful to counteract any stretching, given that EBY notes these bras "adapt" to your shape with wear.
Do EBY bras have padding or removable pads?
Both the Relief Bra and Support Bralette come with removable pads, and the Pain-Free T-shirt Bra features built-in padding that can't be removed. The Sheer Bralette has no padding or lining whatsoever.
Do EBY bras stretch out over time?
Pretty much any bra with elastic will stretch out over time—as the elastic fibers break down, the material can't "snap back" as easily after each wear. That said, I've found that as long as I follow the care instructions to a T, the bras still fit just as well after a handful of wears and washes.
